FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING – At the meeting last Sunday of the Finance Committee it was agreed, subject to the approval of the Archdiocese, that the works to extend the Lady Chapel would go ahead. The committee was mindful of the costs involved and of the fact that the parish is growing in numbers. Two years ago when the Lady Chapel was first formed twenty five places was considered sufficient. In the last month alone there have been several occasions each week at the weekday Masses, when people have not been able to get into the Chapel and had to sit outside in the church. The work, if approved, is due to start in July and should take twelve weeks. During this time the Lady Chapel will be out of use. To help fund the extension it is proposed that we will hold a second ‘Food Festival’ in the Summer and there will be a ‘Buy a Brick’ scheme.
BUY A BRICK FOR THE LADY CHAPEL – If you would like to buy a brick for the extension of the Lady Chapel, it will cost £10.00 per brick. When the Lady Chapel is completed a plaque with all the names of the donors’ will be placed in the Chapel. If you would like to buy a brick please place your donation in a clearly marked envelope. Bricks may be bought in memory of a loved one.
